The Baku Expo Center hosted the 22nd Azerbaijani International Food Industry Exhibition, where 313 companies from 34 countries were presented. One of the most popular agricultural brands of Azerbaijan in Russia is 'AzerCay'. This brand is promoted in accordance with the order of the national leader, Heydar Aliyev, who participated in the opening of this tea factory in 1996. Currently, products manufactured under the 'AzerCay' brand are sold in more than 100 airports of 50 countries.

Vegetable products of Azerbaijan are also in great demand in Russia. The annual export capacity of the AzTomato company, which produces tomatoes, amounts to 1300 tons. The 'Ismayilli Terevezleri' company cultivates potatoes, onions, carrots, beets and cabbage. It is planned to increase its export capacity to 10 million tons.

Russia, which participated in the exhibition, presented the products of the 'Rostselmash' company, this company has been producing agricultural equipment for many years. 'Niva' harvesters are popular in Azerbaijan, 'TORUM' harvesters were also brought to this exhibition.

As the president of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky stated in an interview to Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the constituent session of the Russian-Azerbaijani Business Council, "Russia is the main supplier of grain to Azerbaijan. Basically, our task is to preserve these positions and our competitiveness in the market of Azerbaijan. From the viewpoint of mutual trade exchange, Azerbaijan is a major supplier of, first of all, vegetable production, certain fruits and certain processed products. And this is normal trade between the two countries, which, of course, must be maintained. The Business Council was actually created to maintain and increase this process of trade exchange, cooperation and joint business. This joint business has existed in our grain market for a long time. It just did not have the political support, and now it exists in the form of this Business Council."
