On September 19-21, St. Petersburg will host the Eurasian Women's Forum, which is called the largest international platform for discussing role of women in the modern world. According to member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-government, Yekaterina Lakhova, this forum, which was initiated by Valentina Matvienko, will be held every three years.

"The first forum, held in 2015in a difficult situation, was attended by representatives of over 80 countries. Many new areas of the forum are associated with national strategy in the inteterests of women, economic well-being of women, issues of employment of women, development of women's entrepreneurship, ways to organize business for women, There will be a lot of open discussions that will concern topics like environment, humanitarian projects, economic projects, governors, city mayors from different countries, and the Women's Union of Russia will host the 'Save Health of Women of All Ages, 50+.' This topic, which is being raised around the world, in Europe, and we called it the 'Golden Age of Silver Age'," Yekaterina Lakhova said.

Deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Food Policy and Nature Management, Irina Gekht, told Vestnik Kavkaza that it's important to talk about global security and the role of women in it. "That's the issue of soft power, work through dialogue, cooperation of parliamentarians, heads of state and representatives of civil society. The main task was to gather great women and re[reventatives of parliamentary groups, civil and international organizations. This forum sees itself as international platform, where constructive solutions are achieved, global issues are discussed in order to show results of 116-120 participating states. I think forum will become a platform that will develop international documents and make adjustments to existing ones, in particular, through the UN, the WHO," Irina Gekht believes.

First deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, Liliya Gumerova, said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza that the second forum will differ from the first one by its more global approach. "Around 20 international organizations will be represented here, which means there will be more meetings, contacts, signing of agreements on science, humanitarian cooperation, cooperation in the field of economy. It's a unique opportunity to invite our colleagues to see Russia first hand, to get to know our position on various issues and consolidate our efforts. This task is close and understandable for any woman in any country of the world - peacekeeping, family preservation, creation of opportunities for education and upbringing of children. This is a world that we need on this planet, we must be able to negotiate. Right now there's very difficult situation in the world, and that's when we need soft power," Liliya Gumerova said.
