The American edition of The New York Times reported today that the rapprochement between Russia and Greece has an impact on the EU. Another round of talks between Greece and Russia caused concern of the European Community. The fact is that the official Athens are on the verge of default and exit from the Eurozone. The Tsipras's visit to Moscow was regarded as an attempt of Greece to put a pressure to the European leaders, which is clearly afraid of convergence of any of its member countries with Russia.
It seems that the strategy of Tsipras to frighten the European Community brings results, as on Friday the European Central Bank decided on the emergency funding of the Greek banks, the final verdict on the situation in the country will be presented next week.
However, the visit of Tsipras is beneficial not only for Greece but also for Russia. With the support of Athens, the Kremlin has a new partner, and for the EU, this becomes a factor in Europe, threatening the unity of the community. Despite the fact that Russia does not intend to provide financial assistance to friendly European countries, Greece has already understood that the balance of forces on the world political scene has changed and Europe is not keeping pace with the leaders. Therefore, it is obvious that Tsipras’s desire is to improve relations with Russia then with discontent in Europe.
The American media portal USA NEWS wrote about the latest round of talks on Iran's nuclear program. The closer the date of signing the agreement on the nuclear program of Iran, the more contradictions and misunderstandings are between member negotiators. First, Israel and Saudi Arabia have taken up arms against the United States, then there was a scandal because of the spy equipment in the negotiations, and now the contradictions within the US Senate, which reached its climax this week. However, despite this, Iran is determined to achieve the lifting of sanctions, and the Obama administration is trying to make every effort in order to get a partner in the Middle East.
Many analysts have doubts that the agreement is still to be signed. Before the next presidential elections in the United States just over a year most likely, Iran will be offered partial easing of sanctions provided with constant monitoring of the Republican’s nuclear facilities. Whether this applies to Iran, when it has support of Russia, it is unknown, because even though the state is under sanctions, it manages to develop its partnerships with many countries, including China and North Africa that gives the Republic an opportunity to maintain its economy without sacrificing domestic policy.
The international community is frozen in anticipation of June 30, when it will be finally clear whether the United States keeps its promises, which were made to Iran, and that, in turn, it will be clear what the Iranian Republic will get in return for giving up nuclear development.
