Firefighting continues at several gas wells on platform №10 at the Azerbaijani Gunashli field in the Caspian Sea. Four helicopters of the MOE, two helicopters and five courts of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan are engaged in searching for the missing oilmen.
A resident of the village of Garamaryam in the Goychay district, Zaur Hasanov Vahid oglu, is one of the oilmen missing in the fire at the Guneshli field, the APA news agency reports.
40-year-old Zaur was working at sea 15 days a month.
The 15-day shift of Zaur Hasanov would have been finished on December 6th. The spouse, father, mother and children of Zaur still hope for good news, they live in the hope that Zaur has miraculously survived and will soon return home.
The family members of Zaur Hasanov said that they were talking with him at the time of the accident. The father of three children, Zaur, at the time of the explosion first called his wife, then his father and brother. He told his wife that there was a fire. An hour later, his father Zaur Hasanov Vahid called his son. He said that together with his friends he was getting into the lifeboats, that he could not speak, because it was very crowded and the phone’s battery was down: "Father, a fire occurred here, we are trying to escape, do not worry about me." The screaming of Zaur and his companions of "Allah, help us" could be heard on the phone.
At the same time, Zaur’s brother, Mushfig, was working on platform №8. He, too, was unable to contact his brother after his last call: "I was working at sea on platform №8. There was a very strong wind. This has not happened before. No machinery could help. A tragedy, the wind blew away my brother."
The family members reported that December 16th is the birthday of Zaur's eldest son and on the 24th it is Zaur’s birthday.
