The New Year's magical show 'The Town Musicians of Bremen', was organized in Baku by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, with the participation of the gymnasts from the country's national team of all ages. The fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm was often used in musicals and theater plays, but the colorful and spectacular show with timeless songs, which have become a hit a long time ago, performed by the Princess and the Troubadour, a donkey, a rooster, a dog and a cat, which included daredevil jumps on the uneven bars, rings, a horizontal bar, a trampoline and a horse at the National gymnastics arena, became a real festival for the guests.
The spectators witnessed an exciting performance of the athletes and the coaches, which have shown not only their athletic talent, but also acting. Each of them was able to get into character, feel it. It was a show of sound and light. Every chord has been emphasized by the play of light and shadow. The head coach of the national rhythmic gymnastics team, Mariana Vasileva, was the director of the show and demonstrated incredible plasticity and grace as the female ataman. It was not just a performance for her, but the progress report and a New Year gift to the audience.
"We prepared this program in a very short time. My role of the female ataman was sufficiently free-style and bright, so I improvised a lot. I am happy that the coaches also took part in this performance, showing that teachers should set an example not only in work, but also in all spheres of life. We have proved the athletes that we still do not give up, so they also can rely on us," Vasileva said.
The songs 'Golden Sun Ray', 'Nothing on earth can be better' and recognizable images of the Soviet cartoon created a special mood.
The actors of the Russian Drama Theatre named after Samad Vurgun participated in this bright performance together with the athletes.
And of course, everyone was amazed by the protagonists - the Troubadour and the Princess, played by the leader of the national Azerbaijani team Marina Durunda. Beautiful, delicate, she has brought lightness to the play with her graceful movements. Her partner Troubadour, the team's choreographer Kamil Guliyev, also brilliantly coped with the role assigned to him.
Directors were not afraid to introduce new elements into a fairy tale, and sometimes there was an improvisation with a modern twist. The greatest revival in the hall was caused by a detective's performance, who in good traditions of today's youth did not put his selfie-stick down.
It is noteworthy that the show was presented at the anniversary of President Ilham Aliyev, who as the president of the National Olympic Committee pays special attention to the development of sports. The New Year's show summed up the outgoing year and became a shining example of the corporate well-functioning Federation's work. The lines 'Those who are friendly, have no fear of anxiety.
