Journalists of the analytics YouTube project Caliber presented a report from Shusha liberated from occupation. They particularly visited the place where the Iskander missile was believed to fall in the very end of the Second Karabakh War. After snow had melted, debris of the missile was found distantly in 780 m between each other.
Journalists stated that the missile missed the target. There was almost no destruction. Thus, speculation of the missile which was launched toward a bunker where allegedly 500 Turkish soldiers with Azerbaijani IDs were sitting was absurd.
The report said that the Iskander missiles were the most powerful weapon that had ever served the Armenian army. If the complex was used professionally, it could severely damage the territory where the missile fell. Journalists concluded that nobody would do that to his native lands. They recalled how supporters of the occupation were leaving the occupied districts. The Azerbaijani army entered almost burnt land. Armenians didn’t need the territory; nobody invested there for years. Money gathered from the Diaspora for those lands were deposited into offshore accounts of Armenian politicians.
At the moment, recovery works are being carried out in the city. The report showed how Gazanchi Russian Orthodox Church in Shusha was being restored, as Armenian nationalists changed its layout in 1995-2000 driving it to standards of Gregorian cathedrals.
Journalists also noted that the whole territory was still dangerous as the Armenian side hadn’t handed maps of mine areas to the Azerbaijani side.
