Moscow State Humanitarian-Economic University hosted the awarding ceremony, where its rector Vagif Bayramov received "Honorary Diploma of the President of Azerbaijan" for merits in strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of education.
"We are proud that there is Azerbaijani, who heads a university [in Moscow]. There are so many professions, many posts, social works, but I think that being a rector is a very responsible work. You are responsible for people's life, their future, future of young people. There are also people with disabilities here. They study, graduate and find a ticket to a great life," Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said. He also stressed that the Association of Rectors of Azerbaijani and Russian Universities, created on Bayramov's initiative, has become an important instrument of humanitarian cooperation.
"Over the past 9 years, many children with disabilities and non-disabled representatives of the CIS countries have graduated from here. Leaders of Azerbaijan and Belarus are here, and we are very proud of it. And I think that from now, the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia will become even stronger. We will continue to develop our cooperation in this area, because we are united, we have common roots. This social project is beyond politics. Further development will benefit both Azerbaijan and Russia. It's impossible to cooperate without education, because education also involves culture, it helps to raise future generations, and mankind can't live without it," Vagif Bayramov said.
