Will there be another anti-terrorist coalition?

This week the world began to talk about the need to create another coalition against terrorism. One of French presidential candidates, Francois Fillon, said that if he wins, his foreign policy will be primarily aimed at the destruction of Daesh. "This will be possible only if all great powers truly act together... As president, I plan to propose diplomatic initiatives everywhere, from Washington to Moscow, in order to create an international coalition against Islamist terrorism," he noted. Kremlin viewed his idea with enthusiasm. "This corresponds to the point of view that dominates in Moscow," press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

Meanwhile, according to the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Franz Klintsevich, Russia has a huge experience in the fight against international terrorism: "Since 1994, international terrorists, prepared by special services of Western countries in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, were in Russia. They blew up buildings, metro, buses. Some threat could come from anywhere at any second. During this time, we learned how to fight against terrorists. Our special services localized this problem. When Daesh began to dominate, we understood that in case they win in Syria, they will come here. We had to use our forces, since we understood that the enemy must be destroyed."

According to Klintsevich, "thanks to Russia's support, more than 1,500 settlements have been liberated from international terrorists, thousands of terrorists, including more than 2,000 immigrants from Russia, have been killed. 26 leaders of terrorists, associated with Russia, have also been killed." According to senator, there's information that 200 tons of chemicals from Libya are in the hands of terrorists: "Daesh has chemical weapons, and chemical weapons of the current government have been destroyed. Corresponding UN commission has officially reported it to the entire world. But there are two factories producing modern chemical warfare agents under the control of terrorists in Syria. Recently, even American media have confirmed that terrorists have used chemical weapons in Syria."

"Russia is currently fighting against international terror, understanding that we all have created something terrible, and it must be destroyed. That's why we say that it's necessary to unite efforts," Klintsevich said.
