Abkhaz President Alexander Ankvab says he is ready for dialogue with all political forces, but believes that no ultimatum is aceptable. In order to establish dialogue with his political opponents, the president has decided to meet with members of the Coordination Council of Political Parties and Public Organizations.
The meeting was held in the office of the presidential staff on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the republic's Abkhaz People's Unity Forum party Raul Khadzhimba, Chairman of the United Abkhaiza party Daur Tarba, Chairman of the Economic Development of Abkhazia party Beslan Butba, Chairman of the People's Party of Abkhazia Yakub Lakoba, leader of the Aruaa association of WWII veterans Vitaly Gabniya, Chairman of the Akhyatsa public organization Akhra Bzhaniya, leader of the Congress of Russian Communities in Abkhazia Gennady Nikitchenko, Chairman of the Abkhaz Civil Union for Democracy, Stability and Order Leonid Dzapsha, President of the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots in Abkhazia Sergey Pigaryov, Chairman of the Abaash movement G. Bigvava and leader of the Young Abkhazia movement Alias Avidzba.
During the meeting Raul Khadzhiba clamed that the republic is in the state of crisis and announced the Coordination Council's demands. According to members of the council, the president should dismiss the cabinet and appoint of one of the council's members as the new prime minister, who will form the new government himself.
Moreover, the president should fire the incumbent Prosecutor General and heads of the Galsky, Tkuarchalsky an Ochamchyrsky Districts. Otherwise, the council will demand the president's resignation and call for public protests.
Khadzhimba refused to negotiate any other issues.
President Ankvab from his part confired that he was ready to continue ialogue with all political forces and public organizations, but stressed that he believed such an ultimatum to be unacceptable, the president's press service reported.
The president has also met with cabinet members, lawmakers and represenatives of the Amtsakhara party. The president informed attendees of the meeting with the demands voiced by the Coordination Council.
On May 6, the president is scheduled to meet with activists of the Amtsakhara party. The meeting was expected to be held in November, 2013, but the authroities had to reschedule due to the epidemics in the Tkuarchale, the president's press service reported.
