Dollar cannot hold the whole planet

Dollar cannot hold the whole planet

This year not only Russia, but also the West discuss that the words “democracy” and “human rights” have become a curtain for politicians. For example, in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia well-known journalists, activists, and scientists are forbidden from visiting the countries. “Blacklists” are full of those who stand for restriction of rights of national minorities and public expression of love toward the Nazi past. Experts say that in the Baltic Region, Western democratic values of freedom of speech are being devalued and that the population of the countries is being encouraged into inter-ethnic conflicts. Last week the well-known Italian journalist and public activist, the former deputy of the European Parliament Giulietto Chiesa, was expelled from the country. He had arrived in Tallinn to speak at the conference “Should Europe be afraid of Russia?”

From Estonia, Giulietto Chiesa came to Moscow to present his book “What is in of Place of Disaster?” Analyzing the modern world order, Giulietto Chiesa spoke about dead-ends to where humanity had come: a global financial crisis, a crisis of the policy of globalism and the monopolar world, a crisis of democracy, an ecological and socio-moral crisis, as well as an information crisis which is connected with the absence of objective information on the events happening in the planet.

According to the former European MP, “we are in the center of a dramatic clash, as the West cannot guarantee the development of the planet. The dollar cannot hold the whole planet. Today the population of the world is 7 billion people, while at the beginning of the last century it was 1.4 billion. We are on the verge of giant changes which can turn out to be very unpleasant. If we continue our activities in the way of the second half of the 20th century, a third world war is inevitable.”

Giulietto Chiesa explains his forecast not by political, but physical fundamental truths: “In the closed system of resources, infinite development is impossible. The first time we feel that development could be endless. Moreover, the current society, as we know it, cannot continue its existence forever. It is necessary to change systems of production, relations, the architecture of the world today and tomorrow as soon as possible – we should change everything.”

The political scientist is sure that hot conflicts between empires are dangerous for human civilization: “It is an outdated view. If we continue to live in such a way, there will be no winners. In 40-50 years the world will be different. It will be changed in all directions – energy, climate, atmosphere, water… The list could be very long. This is a difficult crisis which has no precedents.”
