The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement, in which it accuses Russia of occupation of new Georgian territories under the pretext of demarcation of South Ossetia's borders.
"On September 29th the forces of the Russian Federal Security Service started the so-called "demarcation of the border". In the framework of these illegal activities the rights of the local Georgian population were violated, as they cannot now enjoy freedom of movement," the statement reads.
The experts of the EU special mission, whose help Georgia asked for, have found "traces of demarcation" on the border. However, they didn't spell out which party is responsible for it.
Georgia insists that it is Russia that organized these activities, and accuses the country of trying to control new Georgian territories. However, some experts believe that Russian forces in the region are not controlled by Moscow. It means that they are guided by tactics and someday may appear on the outskirts of Tbilisi. That would be a debacle for Saakashvili.
