The US edition of the Washington Post writes today about the ongoing conflicts between Israel, Iran and the United States in the article "Netanyahu Congress speech “spin.” Once again, the Israeli prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the negotiating process with Iran, even though Israel itself is not involved in these negotiations. According to Netanyahu, US leaders are loyal to their position in the nuclear program, it is just an attempt to earn extra points before the election in March, and for Israel this attitude is disastrous. The Prime Minister himself has been criticized at home for his harsh words toward Iran, while in Israel there are military clashes. According to analysts, Netanyahu himself uses the situation with a certain political intent, namely, he needs to retain power and enlist the support of the United States. His charges primarily refer to Iran's statement that it is ready to make every effort to destroy Israel. However, Iran's leaders still insist that their nuclear program is entirely peaceful. Despite all the obstacles on the part of Israel, Iran and the group of "five" have achieved interim arrangements before the decisive round of negotiations in March.
Another article in the Washignton Post is about who really benefits from the crisis in Ukraine - "The real winner of the Ukraine crisis could be China". Against the background of ongoing military tensions in Ukraine, while the West and Russia are trying to reach a consensus about the de-escalation of tensions, analysts are increasingly inclined to believe that China can benefit from this situation. The thing is that China is at a peak of its economic growth, and Russia strongly supports this growth by selling its natural resources. In addition, between the two countries there is active cooperation in the military-industrial sphere. Investments and resources are what unite the two countries. That is, despite the fact that because of the sanctions, Russia has lost a lot of markets, it has acquired China, and China has gained a powerful ally in Russia. In addition, Russia and China are going to recreate the balance in the political arena, as opposed to the United States, because of their cooperation. While Europe defines its position, Beijing and Moscow gradually strengthen their ratings and declare to the world political community that they are worthy players. The actions of the two countries, aimed at bringing parity, have been recorded by American analysts, who fear that their foreign policy cannot affect the interests of the powerful new alliance. Therefore, the West is making every effort to negotiate with each country separately, in order to strengthen its position. However, at this point, all US actions are only a push for rapprochement between China and Russia.
The New York Times writes about Iran's attempts to improve its financial position in an article titled "Iran Smuggles in $1 Billion of Bank Notes to Skirt Sanctions -Sources." In view of the imposed sanctions on Iran, US dollars do not come to Iran directly but through third countries and companies, the legitimacy of which cannot always be verified. However, the international currency is needed by Tehran to make money transactions within the country and abroad. Sources inside Iran say that today for Iran it is the only way to counter the sanctions that are imposed on it. That is why the leadership in Tehran has already made many concessions at the talks on its nuclear program and wants them to be completed successfully and as soon as possible.
