Business Insider: "The West is dissatisfied with developing relations between Russia and Iran"

The Washington Times
examines the situation in Russia and tries to guess what damage Western sanctions may cause in the future. International analysts and banking institutions agree that the worst is behind for the Russian economy. Despite this, the West is still hoping that low oil prices and an unstable exchange rate may cause harm to the Russian Federation. Is it possible?

The International Monetary Fund confirmed the improvement of Russia's position in the market, due to the fact that large Russian companies were able to avoid debt, which, in turn, could deplete the foreign exchange reserves of the country. That did not happen, which played into  hands of the state. Of course, quite a number of Russian companies are affected by the sanctions, but smart geopolitics helped avoid a crisis.

However, according to some analysts, Russia's economy is not improving, as state-owned banks do not have access to credit in the West, and the country needs to recapitalize the company's assets, which could cause problems in 2016. But despite the threat of the anti-Russian sanctions, President Vladimir Putin will likely be able to overcome the effects of Western aggression against his country.

The magazine Business Insider writes about dissatisfaction of the West because of developing relations between Russia and Iran. The fact that the countries entered into a new agreement, which provides for imports of Iranian food products, while imports of meat, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and fish from Western countries are still banned in Russia. This economic rapprochement between the two countries in a number of strategic partnerships makes Western countries have a new look on Iran and Russia.

Analysts agree that the US influence in both countries, even with the help of sanctions, is not leading to the desired result, and global issues relating to the Middle East region are solved without the participation of America. Numerous attempts to sign an agreement on Iran's nuclear program have not yet brought results, and Russia, in turn, was able to enlist the support of a powerful state like Iran.

The Western powers are still hoping that a conflict between Iran and Russia will play a role in the deterioration of relations between the countries, but so far this is not happening. America's deteriorating relations with its closest ally, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, which prevents the embodiment of the American imperialist plans, because the United States alone cannot conduct its foreign policy. Thus, as the US tries to keep its partners, Russia and Iran are establishing relationships, despite the economic blockade on the part of Western countries.

The independent publication Middle East Monitor writes today about the problems of Obama regarding Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel. For nearly 20 years, Iran has been successfully overcoming American-Israeli pressure regarding its nuclear program, stressing that their program is entirely peaceful. Recently, however, US President Barack Obama has been trying to acquire a reliable ally in Iran, which involves the removal of sanctions against the state, as well as recognition of the fact that the Iranian nuclear program cannot be a threat to neighboring countries.

However, this position does not suit America's closest allies. Israel and Saudi Arabia believe that Iran is a direct threat to them, and that military intervention as a preventive measure would be the only possible solution. Israel also fears that Saudi Arabia will go the way of Iran and will start developing nuclear weapons, which eventually becomes a threat not just for the Middle East, but also for the whole world. In this situation, the United States has to manipulate its partners, assuring them that the situation is under control and Iran is fully subordinated to the will of America. But in fact, the leadership of Iran continues to remind that an agreement is possible only if all the conditions of management, which provide for the preservation of the country's nuclear arsenal, as well as non-interference of outside forces in the state, are followed.
