Popular Israeli bloggers have called for a boycott as protest against an advertisement of shampoo where Adolf Hitler's speech was used. Bloggers say that the video caused an outcry in many countries and expressed surprise with the silence of the Israeli government. Less than two days have passed since Marka, a Turkish advertising agency, abandoned the ad with Hitler. But the decision was made due to numerous requests from the Turk Musevi Cemaati, a Turkish Jewish organization, and the chief rabbi of Turkey, who called use of Hitler for commercial purposes inappropriate.
The 12-second ad is based on archives of Hitler's speeches. The dictator says that if men do not wear women's clothes, they should not use women's shampoo either. Hitler recommends "real men" to use the Biomen shampoo. Makers of the ad say they were misunderstood. "If Mustafa Kemal Ataturk spoke in the advertisement instead of Adolf Hitler, people would think we are making fun of him. But when it is Hitler, they say we advertise him", owner of the agency Khulusu Deriji told Hurriyet. Israel takes the ban for the ad as "prove that Turkey still has the power to oppose neonazism". This concerns the bloggers, of course, because neither the Foreign Ministry, nor the Israeli government reacted to the ad.
