They say every person is born talented, but not everyone can fulfill his or her potential. When a person has not a simple talent, but a special blessing, he or she always has to make a choice how to use the blessing – to use it for bad or for good. Tofik Dadashev is a unique person who possesses a skill which is recognized all over the world. And he made his choice once and forever.

Dadashev was born and raised in Baku in a large family. He studied well at school. The boy liked how his teacher of literature read poems, without mistakes. One Tofik wondered whether she couldn’t do a mistake. He wished in this thought she made a mistake, and suddenly the teacher began to stumble and stutter. For the first time Tofik realized that he had some skill, but couldn’t understand it and told nobody about this. He guessed homework; in this thoughts he made arguing friends make peace; helped newcomers in a billiard club to win arrogant “masters” who cheated, and so on.

In 1966 Tofik moved to Moscow where he began to perform his psychological experiences in Mosconcert later. The wonderful skills of Dadashev were tested in scientific institutes and even KGB. He made no mistakes in the tests and surprised experienced professors and generals.

In 1973 Dadashev was invited to Prague for the first International Congress on Studies of Psychotronics Problems as a member of the USSR Academy of Science delegation. The well-known American scientist, the author of the lie detector, Cliff Baxter called Dadashev the strongest medium in the world, having in mind his phenomenal ability unmistakably to guess thoughts of other people.

In Moscow and Baku Dadashev cooperated with the police and KGB, helping to detect foreign spies and dangerous criminals. In issues of national security, Dadashev was always ready to help. His participation remained unseen, but the authorities appreciated him very much; numerous awards and ranks confirm it. The Certificate of Merit of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijani SSR Presidium is among them. It was awarded to Dadashev for the successful operation on prevention of skyjack, providing security of passengers and a criminal disposal.

On May 31st, 1989, a skyjacked plane landed in the Baku airport. Terrorist Stanislav Skok was aboard. The criminal stated that he had two supporters aboard and a bomb in the cargo compartment. He threatened to explode the plane if his conditions to be ignored. The terrorist demanded a big sum of money and an opportunity to fly to Pakistan. The Special Forces unit “Alpha” was sent to Baku, which was headed by Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Karpukhin. Leaders of KGB and the Internal Ministry decided to consult Dadashev. He was asked to convince the criminal to wait for 11 a.m. when money would be carried to Baku from Moscow, as the republic had no such a huge sum. Dadashev had a couple of minutes to chat with the terrorist. The medium immediately felt that the criminal four-flushed and got neither supporters nor a bomb. He told the headquarters of the operation about his suggestions. “Alpha” conducted the operation in a few seconds. A bomb was simple alarm-clocks.

Dadashev helped not only the state, but also common people who came to him with their personal problems. He organized the Center of Charity Parapsychological Help in Baku and later in Moscow. The most known story about his psychological support was Harry Kasparov’s victories over Anatoly Karpov in chess matches for the title of the world champion in the mid 1980s. Dadashev said that he wanted to help Kasparov not only because he was from Baku, but also because he was a man who found himself in times of trouble.

The name of Tofik Dadashev is well-known not only in the world of parapsychology and sport, but also in the world of art. In 1981 he presented to the Louvre a psychological portrait of Gioconda by Leonardo de Vinci, in which the parapsycologist made a sensational suggestion on the secret of the famous smile. Dadashev thought that the lady on the picture was pregnant. The Louvre expressed special gratitude to Dadashev for his psychological analysis.

Dadashev says that he cannot explain his skill by science. He treats his talent calmly, realizing that his mission is to help people, the state, and the society. Dadashev thinks that “the most important thing is to have kind and jolly to people nearby – and everything will be nice.”
