The speaker of the Chechen parliament Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov, insulted by the survey of "Levada-Center", spoke on July 8 at the 6th Congress of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia for the unity of Russia and Chechnya. Abdurakhmanov said that such surveys are aimed at inciting ethnic hatred.
The reason for Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov’s speech was the results of a public opinion poll, according to which 24% of Russian citizens “would be glad” to see separation of Chechnya from the RF; 27% of respondents “would treat it neutrally”, and 12% of them think that “it has actually happened.” The public opinion poll was conducted on June 6-10, 2013, in 130 residential areas of 45 regions of the country.
Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov stated: “I am a Chechen, but I am Russian, and I am proud of it… This year we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, this year we celebrated the 70thanniversary of the Caucasian battle. This battle, the 70th anniversary of which is celebrated by the Russian army, the Russian government, was a battle for Grozny and Baku… Our oil was supplied to the army and brought by the Soviet army to Berlin. Should we forget this and go away? In recent years, not through our territory and frontiers, not with our weapons, not with our passports, not with our ideology, international terrorists came to us from 53 countries… The fight against terrorism, this evil is a third world war. We have suffered huge losses, more than a thousand of our people have been destroyed. But in this fight against terrorists we died to preserve Russian statehood. Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov is the only one who was killed on duty – not in a crash, not for disassembly. Chechen General Ramzan Kadyrov is the only one who defeated this terrorism on his territory. Should we leave?”
According to Abdurakhmanov, “the Russian people have the power in this country, we support them. The Jews have the wealth. We were left to defend the homeland - an honorary mission. If we leave, if 2008 is repeated, I saw the invasion in South Ossetia, if the third world war after Syria and Iran comes to the territory of Russia, without us, who will defend this country? I know that the Russian people and other peoples will provide great generals. This is a great nation that has created a great state. When we returned from deportation, our writers came to Sholokhov, and the Chechens said, 'We're back, dear patriarch”, and Sholokhov said: "This is very good. What is Russia without the Chechens! "
“The Chechens… are determined. Kadyrov stood next to Putin, and the Chechen people rose for Kadyrov… We are not going to go away. Someone wrote and made a sociological survey - 27% of Russians support the exodus of Chechens from Russia - let them know that our exodus will last 500 years. During this time, they will all die, and their descendants, too, probably, roughly speaking,” Abdurakhmanov stated.
