Recently a Turkish farmer caught a bird and noticed that there was a ring on its leg with the sign “Israel-Tel Aviv-24311.” The smart farmer realized that the bird was sent by Israeli spies and gave it to the authorities. They sent the grosbeak to an expertise to find out whether it is a flying spy.

Turkish scientists studied the bird for several weeks, including X-raying to find secret equipment inside of the bird. It was tested to find out whether the bird was sent to spread dangerous diseases, and so on.

Finally, scientists at Istanbul University came to the conclusion that the bird was healthy, didn’t present any threat and had no spying equipment. The bird was set free.

Now Israeli bloggers are competing in wit, mocking the spy mania of Turkey and that no charges were filed against the poor bird. However, Israeli political experts believe that this funny story can be treated seriously. It shows that anti-Israeli attitudes are strong in various circles of Turkey.

It should be noted that this is not the first such a story in recent years. Several years ago the Egyptian mass media stated that Israel had launched specially trained spy sharks into the Red Sea.

A year ago Turkish beekeepers in Gaziantep found a dead grosbeak, there was a ring on its leg with the sign “Tel-Aviv, Israel.” The beekeepers took the dead birth to the local agricultural department. Two days later experts concluded that the grosbeak had never cooperated with Mossad.
