The international conference on nonlinear phenomena in biology, physics, and mechanics comes to an end in Munich. It is devoted to the 60th birthday of a mathematician of international renown – the first Azerbaijani who got Alexander von Humboldt Award, Pr. Mesud Efendiyev. Leading scientists of Japan, Europe, America, Australia, Canada, and Africa, representatives of Springer, Birkhauser, Gakkotoscho (Japan), АIMS (the USA) took part in the conference.
The conference was opened by the president of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, Pr. K.H. Hoffman: “We know about fundamental scientific achievements by Pr. Efendiyev and follow his scientific career. He is one of rare experts who achieved fundamental results both in theoretical and practical mathematics. And we are happy that he lives in Germany. He absolutely deserves to be a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, and we wish he were a member of our Academy. However, according to the Academy Charter, only citizens of Germany can be members of the Academy.”
It should be noted that such famous German scientists as Alexander and Wilhelm Humboldt, Max Plank, Albert Einstein, Werner Heisenberg, and many Noble Prize winners from Germany were members of the Academy which was found in 1759.
A representative of Springer, Dr. Eva Hiripi told Pr. Efendiyev that the Academic Board of the periodical is interested in publishing his new book headlined “On Mathematical Medicine Models: in vivo in vitro and in silico,” as well as materials of the conference.
Mesud Efendiyev accepted the proposal of the world-famous periodical on publishing his book with gratitude. The conference materials will be published in Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences Magazine which belongs to Wiley (the UK).
Despite the fact that Mesud Efendiyev has been living and working in Germany for 23 years, he preserved Azerbaijani citizenship, which was emphasized by speakers.
Vestnik Kavkaza’s note

Efendiyev applied to Humboldt Award and won it. Then he stayed in Germany which became his second motherland. He was a guest tutor in leading universities of Japan, Europe, Canada, and the USA.
