Expecting more

The first games of the World Cup in South Africa have disappointed those who expected to see top quality football

The World Cup continues. The first games have been played, the first goals scored, and there have been the first unexpected results. But still, the first impression of the first days of the championship is dissatisfying. Of course it is too early to say that the level of the participants of the championship will not be high in South Africa, but specialists and fans are apprehensive. So far, only the Germans have showed bright and attacking play.
English, Argentinean, Italian and French fans are dissatisfied with the play of their teams. The legendary Zinedine Zidane is criticizing the work of the head coach.

As a result of the lack of interesting events on the pitch, journalists make vuvuzela horns and security issues the main topic of the Cup.

Everybody is complaining about vuvuzelas: players, journalists, coaches and commentators. But the president of FIFA, Joseph Blatter, said that "the vuvuzela is a local color. We are not in Europe or South America, we are in Africa. Yeah, it makes a lot of noise. But at the same time it is energy, rhythm, music, and dance. We should get used to it, not forbid something that is accepted in a different country but that we find wrong".

But carping tongues say that this is not about love of tradition, Blatter expects unanimous support from African federations at the elections of the head of FIFA and does not need to have bad relations with them because of some horns. But if horns could be forgiven, the atmosphere of fear overshadowing this Cup could be remembered at the upcoming elections. Indeed, what is a celebration, if people are afraid to go out of their hotels even during the day?
