"I am in Ingushetia for the first time and to be honest I was a bit nervous in the beginning," she said. 'However there was need to be afraid. It's quite safe here and there's nothing to worry about."
"People are ready to work in tourism and are really looking forward to the end of the construction of tourist facilities," Lagonova said.
She also said that she was impressed by local traditions. "I learned a lot of new things about Caucasian culture. I believe tourists will be impressed too."
The tourist project in the republics of the North Caucasus was launched despite criticism and fear from both Russia and abroad. Alexander Khloponin, the presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, believes, however, that these fears are baseless.
