The Union of Russian Women in honor of the second anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia in the framework of the program ‘Spirituality. Culture. Healthy Lifestyle’ held an exhibition of paintings by young artists of the Republic of Crimea titled 'The World of Russian Fairy Tales'. The idea of the exhibition-contest originated in a difficult time for the region, when the Crimean Russian-speaking community were faced with the tasks of preserving the Russian language in the educational space, saving Russian national traditions, education of patriotism and respect for the cultural heritage of the Russian people. The exhibition presents the work of the winners of the competition of art schools of different cities and towns of the republic.
Young artists used not only paint to depict Russian folklore characters, but also egg shells and pieces of cloth. The ceremony was opened by its organizer, the chairwoman of the Russian Union of Women, the senator Ekaterina Lakhova: We're taking part in an exhibition of young artists of Crimea. The Union of Russian Women has been running a civic activism school for 1.5 years. During this time we have trained about 200 listeners. It is very important that the integration of Crimea with Russia happens faster. As part of this school of civic engagement we held a competition of socially significant projects. And the project ‘The World of Russian Fairy Tales." won in the competition. Basically illustrations when to the Pushkin's fairy tales are represented here.
The Chairman of the Russian Community of Crimea, the senator Sergey Tsekov, said in an interview for Vestnik Kavkaza: ‘‘It is a very nice, very useful exhibition for us, because the first festival ‘The Great Russian Word’ was held in 2007. Several years, children participated in these competitions, drawing illustrations devoted to the Pushkin’s fairy tales, as his birthday was on June 6th, as well as illustrations to other tales of all Russian great writers of folk tales.
And today we are continuing traditions that were established before the reunification of Crimea with Russia. It is good that the exhibition takes place in the house woman’s friendship, as it was the initiative of the Union of Russian Women.
In the future such exhibitions will be held regularly within the framework of the project ‘Children of Crimea — Russian Children.’
