Security Council of Georgia approves country's border strategy for coming years

On Tuesday, February 28, a meeting of the Security Council chaired by the Prime Minister was held in Georgia.

In addition to Irakli Garibashvili, the meeting was attended by the heads of law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Finance and the Commander of the Defense Forces. They talked about security in the region and the world, Ukraine and the challenges facing Georgia today.

The main topics of the meeting were the issues of extension of the "Threat Assessment Document" and "Georgia's National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction", as well as the updating of the national level conceptual documents, including the final version of the state border management strategy, planned up to 2027.

In addition to this, the meeting touched upon the preparation of a reform aimed at protecting critical infrastructure. The meeting participants also decided to hold a national cybersecurity forum during this year.
