EU extends anti-Russian sanctions for six months

Individual anti-Russian sanctions against nearly 1,500 individuals and 205 organizations have been extended for six months, until September 15, 2023, the Council of the European Union said in a statement. These sanctions have been in force since 2014.

Nothing has been changed in the composition of the sanctions lists. According to RIA Novosti, the statement says that restrictive measures apply to those responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

European anti-Russian individual sanctions were first introduced in March 2014. Since then they have been regularly extended for six months.

A new, 10th sanctions package against Russia was published by the EU in its official journal on February 25, now 1,473 individuals and 205 organizations from Russia are under personal EU sanctions.
