Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia and Syrian delegation discuss assistance after earthquake

On March 27, Moscow hosted a meeting between the Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and the Syrian delegation. This is stated in a message on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website.

During the conversation, the sides disscussed assistance to Syria after the strong earthquake that occurred in early February.

In addition to this, the meeting participants exchanged views on the current situation around Syria and within the country. The issues of a comprehensive settlement in the SAR were also discussed.

Let us remind you that a little more than a month and a half ago, strong earthquakes of magnitude 7,7 and 7,6 occurred in Türkiye. According to the latest information, more than 50 thousand people died as a result of the natural disaster. About 5 thousand people became victims in neighboring Syria.
