The tea plantations of the Sochi Matsesta were transferred from the administration of the resort city to the state. A relevant decision was made by the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory. The decision may affect the final cost of the product.
The Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory recognized as legal the seizure of more than 500 hectares of tea plantations from the administration of Sochi into the ownership of the Russian Federation, lawyer Mikhail Shkolnik, who represents the interests of JSC Matsesta Chai, informed.
In 1993, the tea farm in Matsesta, Sochi, was reorganized into a joint-stock company. The Federal Property Management Agency leased land for 49 years, and in 2009 transferred it to the municipal property of Sochi.
However, the Khostinsky court ruled to withdraw 538 hectares of agricultural land from JSC Matsesta Chai in favor of the Russian Federation, and the Krasnodar Regional Court upheld it. Today the court decision came into force and, most likely, the records in the state register on the ownership of the plots by the defendants will be canceled, Shkolnik explains.
The company's management fears that after the transfer of land to the Russian Federation, the cost of rent will increase, and accordingly, the cost of tea will increase, which will affect its competitiveness.
