The winter season turned out to be successful for the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, the regional administration's press service reported.
Summing up its results, Mikhail Zaritsky, Acting Minister of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Territory, noted that from December to March, more than 2,5 million Russians rested in the Kuban resorts, which is 4% more than in the same period a year earlier, he quotes RIA News.
Sochi had the biggest number of vacationers. More than 1,4 million tourists visited the resort city and its ski slopes. 212 thousand visited Gelendzhik and 156 thousand went to Anapa. Besides, Russian travelers had a high demand for one-day tourist visits to the region during the winter season.
In three weeks, in May, the summer high season starts in the Kuban, during which the Kuban health resorts plan to receive at least nine million guests, the Ministry of Tourism of the region added.
