Major competitions in the Uzbek national wrestling "kurash" will be held in China soon, the International Association of this sport reports.
The competition called "Kurash: World Series Pro" will start on April 25 and will run until April 30. The tournament will bring together 400 wrestlers representing 24 Asian countries.
Both men and women will come out on the carpet. Men will fight in four weight categories, women will fight in three.
The main prize of the tournament will be the prize of the President of Uzbekistan.
The authorities of Uzbekistan are actively working to popularize national sports all over the world, one of which is kurash.
What is kurash
"Kurash" is translated as "achieving the goal in an honest way." The name reflects the very essence of the fight, in which all painful, shock and suffocating techniques are prohibited. You can only do throws and sweeps. The fight is fought standing up, the one who puts the opponent on his back wins.
