Kazakhstan switches to four-day working week

According to the Uchet.kz portal, residents of Kazakhstan will work four days a week, the Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a corresponding decree.

According to the website, the norm will be introduced into the Labor Code of Kazakhstan on July 1. The new working week format will affect individual productions. If necessary, the format can alternate with a five- and six-day working week.

They also said that Sunday would remain a day off for any schedule. In this case, additional days off will be considered by a collective agreement or in accordance with the rules of the working regulations.

The developers of the decree emphasize that the new format meets international standards and it is already in service among office workers. They believe that the following working format can be applied: one week can have five working days, while the next week can have four working days.
