At least 22 people were killed in mass shootings in Lewiston, Maine, Wednesday night.
According to Fox News, the shooter opened gunfire at three locations: in a restaurant, a shop, and a recreation center.
Another 50 to 60 people were injured, according to multiple law enforcement sources.
An intensive manhunt is underway for a suspect, officials said, and police are asking residents to shelter in place as the situation is ongoing. Lewiston is the state's second-largest city which is about 58 km north of Portland.
Police identified Robert Card, 40, as a person of interest in the shooting, adding he should be “considered armed and dangerous."
U.S. President Joe Biden spoke by phone with a number of Maine lawmakers in the wake of the mass shootings in Maine and offered full federal support.
