A number of European countries are pushing for the visa-free travel suspension and other sanctions against Georgia over 'foreign agents ' law,

The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Sweden and Estonia are pushing for sanctions against Georgia in response to its government's passing of the "foreign agents" law, the Financial Times  reported, citing official sources.

"Estonia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Sweden aim to discuss restrictive measures towards Georgia at the EU Foreign Affairs meeting next week," the report reads.

The potential sanctions include suspending visa-free travel to the European Union by Georgians and some targeted sanctions, the newspaper cited the officials as saying.

Another option on the table is the freezing of EU funds, officials familiar with the matter told the FT.

The Georgian parliament approved the third and final reading of a “foreign influence” bill last week.
