Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the country’s national holiday, Independence Day. The letter was published on the Kremlin website
The Russian leader noted that Azerbaijan has achieved widely recognised successes in its socioeconomic development, it holds a well-deserved prestige on the global stage and is actively engaged in addressing various issues of the international agenda.
Putin stressed that Russia attaches great importance to its allied relationship with Azerbaijan. He expressed confidence that joint efforts of Moscow and Baku will allow to steadily expand productive bilateral cooperation in all spheres and to coordinate efforts in regional affairs.
The Russian president added that this serves the interests of the Russian and Azerbaijani nations and contributes to strengthening security and stability in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region.
