According to the data from the US Customs Service, trade between Russia and the United States increased by 20% year on year.

In April, trade between the two countries reached $332 million, RIA Novosti reports.

The volume of Russian exports increased by 37% and amounted to $298 million. The first place in this list is occupied by fertilizers with a 1.6-fold increase (to $164 million), the second one is platinum (an increase of 32 times, $94 million). Turbojet engines close the top-3 with a 3-fold increase (up to $10.1 million). Phosphates ($4 million) and soybean oil cake ($4 million) are forth and fifth, respectively.

At the same time, US exports to Russia decreased by 48% and now amount to $34 million. It mainly consists of food products (2-fold increase, to $6.7 million) and vaccines (3.5-fold decrease, to $6.2 million). The top 5 products also include medical devices ($3.0 million), X-rays ($2 million) and medical reagents ($1.8 million).

At the same time, trade decreased by 30% in monthly terms due to the fact that the USA had not purchased uranium from Russia. Traditionally, there is a pause in the relations between the two countries in the trade of these raw materials. This is the second such break this year.

Let us remind you that the US Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security reported earlier this week that discussions had been underway in the White House about a complete cessation of Russian exports.
