Adjara reports sharp increase in tourist flow

Last year was exceptionally successful for Georgian Adjara in terms of tourism. The tourist flow to Adjarian resorts increased by 20%. In the first quarter of 2024, the trend continues: the number of vacationers is growing.

Today, the head of the Adjarian government, Tornike Rizhvadze, spoke about the positive dynamics of the tourism sector of Adjara, summing up the development of this Black Sea region of Georgia.

He noted that in the first quarter of this year, over 363,000 foreign tourists visited resorts of Adjara, which means an increase in the tourist flow by over 44% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Last year, during the same period, almost 334,000 foreign tourists visited the Adjarian shores of Georgia.

In total, 4.7 mln people visited Adjarian resorts in 2023, including both foreigners and Georgian citizens, which is an impressive 20% increase comparing to 2022. The number of flights accepted at the Batumi airport has also increased.
