Opponents of legal reforms in Israel fear that they will result in the establishment of a dictatorship in the country. According to the head of the Yesh Atid party, Yair Lapid, the essence of the reform is the government's desire to gain absolute power.

Knesset Member Ram Ben-Barak from the opposition Yesh Atid Party, commenting on the initiative of the government's legal reform, said that the process launched by the head of the Israeli Cabinet, Benjamin Netanyahu, "is clear and leads to dictatorship."

According to him, the reform is leading the country to anarchy. "They will lead us to the abyss," he pointed out. The parliamentarian assured that the opposition, obeying the law, "will not allow this to happen."

How judicial reform could lead to a dictatorship in Israel

The protests against the project of judicial reform began in early January and continue to this day. In particular, today, on March 4, the police announced that part of the roads where the demonstrators would pass would be blocked in Tel Aviv.

The authors of the innovations propose to limit the ability of the Supreme Court to overturn the decisions of the executive and legislative branches of government, which, according to the opposition, will lead to the country's slide into dictatorship.
