11 sets of medals to be played for on sixth day of First European Games

Acrobatic gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, men’s freestyle wrestling, taekwondo, trampoline, boxing, shooting, archery, beach volleyball, table tennis, volleyball and water polo events will be held on June 17.

Today the athletes will contend for 11 medal sets: one set in archery, one in rhythmic gymnastics, three in shooting, two in taekwondo and four in freestyle wrestling.

The Azerbaijani national team, composed of Sabina Abbasova, Aynur Mustafayeva, Siyana Vasileva, Diana Doman and Alexandra Platonova, was given number eight. And the Russian team (Vera Biryukova, Daria Kleshcheva, Anastasia Maksimova, Sofia Skomorokh, Anastasia Tatareva, Maria Tolkacheva) was given the last number, twelve. The  Ukrainian gymnasts will open the competition.

The Acrobatic Gymnastics competitions will be held at 12:00 (MSK). Lala Huseynova, Narmin Ramazanova, Aynur Huseynova and the mixed pair of Uliana Dyakonova and Anatoly Leonov will represent Azerbaijan in the qualifying performances in women's groups and mixed doubles. Valery Belkin, Julia Nikitina, Zhanna Parhomets and the mixed pair of Marina Chernova and Georgi Pataraya will represent Russia.

The qualifications will be held in the competitions of mixed doubles in aerobics at 21:45 (MSK). Azerbaijani athletes Vera Bosykh and Vladimir Dolmatov were given number two, Russian athletes Duhik Dzhanazyan and Denis Solovyov were given number four.

The most popular men's sport in the Caucasus, wrestling, will be represented by Azerbaijani Yashar Aliyev (57 kg), Togrul Asgarov (65 kg), Jabrail Hasanov (74 kg) and Khetag Gazyumov (up to 97 kg), Russians Victor Lebedev (57 kg), Ilyas Bekbulatov (65 kg), Aniuar Geduev (74 kg) and Abdusalam Gadisov (up to 97 kg). Armenians Garik Barseghyan (57 kg), David Safaryan (65 kg) and Grigor Grigoryan (74 kg), Georgians Vladimir Hinchegashvili (57 kg), Avtandil Kenchadze (65 kg), Jumber Kvelashvili ( to 74 kg) and Elizbar Odikadze (97 kg).

In taekwondo competitions Azerbaijan will be represented by Aykhan Taghizade and Gunay Aghakishiyeva, and Russia by Alexey Denisenko and Katerina Kim.
