Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Lixutov said that the strengthening of security measures in the Moscow metro allowed to prevent the passage of more than 260 thousand dangerous items, among which more than 17 thousand different types of weapons.
He specified that three times more objects were found and seized in the past year than in 2016.
Lixutov added that on the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, security measures were strengthened throughout the city transport during the holidays.
