Employees of the Russian border department of the Republic of Kalmykia and the Astrakhan region confiscated a contraband batch of naswar (chewing tobacco), a spokeswoman of the border guards of the Astrakhan Region, Irina Gafurova, said.
"Two citizens of Kazakhstan were trying to smuggle 318 bags filled with naswar. The total cargo weight is about 17 tons," Interfax-South cited Gafurova as saying.
