17th-century icon stolen in Karachay-Cherkessia

The police of Karachay-Cherkessia have detained a 23-year-old resident of Cherkessk who had allegedly stolen a 17th-century icon of the Holy Mother and PCs. The police identified the alleged thief in June, Interfax-South reports.

The icon was found in his house. A criminal case into theft was opened. The young man has already pleaded guilty.
