According to the secretary of the Central Electoral Commission, Armen Smbatyan, the turnout in the referendum on constitutional reform in Armenia was 39.17% at 4.00 PM local time, 3 hours before the end of the voting.
In comparison with the last presidential elections, voters show lower activity. 49.81% of voters participated in the presidential elections on February 18th, 2013 by 4.00 PM. The referendum will be declared as invalid if the number of voters is less than 50% by 8:00 PM local time (7:00 PM MSK),.
The turnout is a bit lower in Yerevan: it is 36.1%, or 305,368 voters. 24.68% voted in Gyumri and 31.25% of voters in Vanadzor, News.am reports.
