Several groups of climbers celebrated the New Year at the top of Elbrus, informs the operational duty officer of the Elbrus high-mountain search and rescue team of the Russian EMERCOM reports.
There are 39 people in total on the mountain. "Today, climber from Izhevsk Yevgeny Kuznetsov, who climbed to the top of Elbrus last night, check out of control. Another group of four people called back with a message that they had returned to the base," the duty officer reports.
