At least 40 journalists have been killed since the capture of the Iraqi city of Mosul in June last year by militants of the terrorist organization Islamic State, the Iraqi press freedom organization reports.
The last well-known case of reprisals against an employee of the press was the execution of Yahia al-Khatib.
About 10 days ago he was captured in his own house, before being killed on the square of Bab al-Tub a week later in front of hundreds of local residents.
