In the past year, 7.5 million foreign tourists visited Georgia, which is 18.8% more than in 2016, the head of the National Tourism Administration, Georgy Chogovadze, announced at a press conference.
According to him, in 2017 the number of tourists who were in the country for 24 hours and more, amounted to 3 million 478.9 thousand people, which is 27.9% more than for the same period in 2016.
At the same time, he specified that in the past year, most often the country was visited by tourists from Armenia (+ 14.8%), Azerbaijan (+ 11.2%), Russia (+ 34.1%), Turkey (-0.8%) and Iran (+ 118.3%).
