Mount Beshtau was conquered in Pyatigorsk today. More than 700 people participated in a traditional mass climb to an altitude of 1401 meters on the eve of the Defenders of the Fatherland Day, the mayor's office reported.
Guests from neighboring regions and representatives of the patriotic clubs participated in a mass climb of Mount Beshtau, which has been held for 35 years, along with pupils, students, young officers, veterans and representatives of labor collectives. A team from Chechnya applied to participate in the ascent for the first time, 'This is the Caucasus' reports.
