The Association of football federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) has sent a complaint to UEFA about the incident on the Europa League match between Azerbaijan's football club Qarabag and Luxembourg's Dudelange yesterday.
“AFFA leadership immediately contacted UEFA and expressed concern about the incident. In addition, AFFA has already sent a complaint to UEFA with a request to conduct a proper investigation," the statement reads.
"The incident with which we are faced at stadium of a name of Josy Barthel, raises doubts about the safety of our players, and we hope that in the future, appropriate measures will be taken” the AFFA added.
After the Azerbaijani side`s second goal a drone carrying the flag of the unrecognized 'Nagorno-Karabakh Republic' suddenly appeared over the stadium. The game was suspended for 15 minutes.
