Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL) and Russia's aircraft lessor Ilyushin Finance & Co. (IFC) have signed a memorandum of intent for the supply of Irkut MC-21 planes to Azerbaijan.
The memorandum was signed by AZAL Director General Jahangir Asgarov and IFC CEO Alexander Rubtsov in the presence of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov.
The first deliveries of the aircraft are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2018 within the framework of the Irkut Corporation's contract with the Aeroflot (Russian Airlines) PJSC.
The Irkut MC-21 is a series of three twin-engine short-range and mid-range Russian jet airliners with a capacity of 150-212 passengers being developed and to be produced by Irkut Corporation, part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Trend reports.
