The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) held a regular meeting, where the ANAS president Akif Alizadeh proposed to establish an academic title of 'Professor of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan'.
"The decent evaluation of scientific, scientific-organizational and scientific-pedagogical activities of scientists and stimulation of their work make an integral part of diverse reforms carried out at ANAS in the last few years. Some activities have been conducted in this area and new honorary titles, diplomas and awards established. Academic title 'Professor of ANAS' is established with the purpose of estimating the work of scientists of Azerbaijan with important achievements at national and international level, outstanding achievements in the implementation of main functions and tasks of the Academy for many years," abc.az cited Alizadeh as saying.
The ANAS Presidium adopted a decree on the establishment of a new academic rank.The workgroup was also set up to prepare the Regulations on Academic Title.
