The Democratic Party of Kazakhstan 'Ak Zhol' has approved at the congress its election program and the list of candidates for participation in the forthcoming elections to the Majilis (lower chamber) of the parliament of the republic.
"The list includes 35 people, 24 of whom (68%) are representatives of business, heads of enterprises and banks," TASS cited the head of the parliamentary faction of the party 'Ak Zhol', Azat Peruashev, as saying.
"Our responsibility is to direct our intellectual and political resources to the development and implementation of urgent steps to address the impact of the global crisis on the domestic economy and the business, protection of national interests, protecting enterprises and the population of Kazakhstan from the threat of falling incomes," Peruashev said.
