Vadim Vorobyov has been appointed the Lukoil's new president. The corresponding decision was made by the company's shareholders at a special meeting held on May 30.
"A decision was made ... to terminate the powers of the president of Lukoil PJSC Vagit Yusufovich Alekperov ahead of schedule ... to appoint Vadim Nikolaevich Vorobyov as president of Lukoil PJSC", RIA Novosti reports.
Vagit Alekperov run the company since its foundation in 1993. In April of this year, he resigned as the company's president ahead of schedule. He also resigned as a member of the board of directors. He explained this decision by the desire to save the company from the sanctions of Great Britain and Australia.
