In particular, speaking about the armistice and its supporters, Alexei Kondratyev said that a bad peace is always better than a good war. "The main task of the entire international community is stabilization and normalization of the situation in Syria, which is now far from normal human life. Clashes, blood and death of civilians don't lead to any good results however these actions may be justified, and no matter how political demands and the desire of certain groups to establish their authority in a particular area in order to solve their own problems and interests are justified,'' he noted.
Kondratyev said that the truce between Damascus and the opposition does not mean termination of the fight against terrorist organizations.
"It is important for us that there should be an understanding: the separation of the parties doesn't affect the reduction of the intensity of the destruction of bandit groups. Our country declared and agreed together with the international community within the framework of the coalition to continue the aerospace operation – the destruction of Dzhebhat en-Nusra and Daesh militants," the senator said.
The peace negotiators are determined – those who signed a temporary truce with each other.
"It means that completion of the armed struggle in the transition to the political process to form a coalition or a coalition government. It would take into account the interests of all sections of the population of the Syrian Arab Republic, and, accordingly, to normalize life on its territory. The destruction in Idlib, Aleppo, Palmyra and Damascus require significant investments in the economic recovery, as well as the return of the citizens and the revival of social life, the preservation and rescue of cultural values. All parties involved in the conflict should return to normal political life and work in the direction of allowing Syria to return to the pre-war level in the future,'' the member of the defense and security Committee of the Federation Council urged.
