Georgia's ex-State Minister for European Integration, Alex Petriashvili, is undergoing emergency surgery after being shot in Tbilisi today.
The incident took place as Petriashvili was visiting the grave of the former diplomat Levan Mikeladze.
Alex Petriashvili is one of the leaders of the opposition Free Democrats, which is headed by the former Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania. He was the State Minister for European Integration from October 2012 to November 2014.
